Dec. 29, 2009
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech assistant coach Kristie Fox was recently honored as a member of the ESPN RISE All-Decade Softball Team (2000-2009) as announced by the online publication. The program, which is a part of the ABC/ESPN family of media properties, celebrates high school athletes and their achievements. The list was compiled and published by ESPN's Garland Cooper and Mark Tennis.
Fox, who joined Tech's staff last summer after completing her second season in the Women's Professional Fastpitch League, was a two-time national champion (2006, 2007) at the University of Arizona. Fox set a Women's College World Series record for hits at a single series with 11 during her senior season (2007).
The All-Decade team is listed below by position. Information provided for each athlete includes high school, home town and year graduated from high school. Our list includes only Fox' highlights as written by ESPN RISE because, quite frankly, she's the only one we choose to celebrate at this time, although we do congratulate all the honorees!
