LUBBOCK, Texas - Continuing their stretch of fall tournament play, the Texas Tech women's tennis team travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., to participate in the Air Force Academy Invitational. Tech will compete in both doubles and singles competition as play begins Fri., Oct. 11.
Last time out, three players competed at the Riviera ITA All-American in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Tech's top doubles duo of senior Janet Durham and freshman Kelsy Garland went 1-1 in the doubles qualifiers, suffering their first loss of the season to Miami's top duo, 9-7. Samantha van der Drift led her team in singles by also advancing to the second round, before losing 6-3, 6-1 to Maya Johansson from Georgia Tech.
The competition at the Air Force Invite includes players from Air Force, Wyoming, Colorado State, Denver, Memphis, Texas Tech, Portland State, East Tennessee and Colorado State-Pueblo. The Lady Raiders will have a full roster competing as play is set to begin at 9 a.m.
