Ziegler Earns Academic Honor

LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior Red Raider Emily Ziegler was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District volleyball team, as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday. Ziegler earned placing on the District VI Third Team and marks only the second Red Raider to be honored on any All-District team. Ziegler has a cumulative grade point average of 3.87 in exercise and sport sciences.
During her junior campaign, Ziegler has played in 90 of the team's 94 games (.957). She leads the Red Raiders in assists with 730 and assists per game with 8.11. Ziegler has notched 46 service aces during the season to average 0.51 per game, ranking second in the conference.
In career numbers, Ziegler is seventh in Texas Tech history for total assists while being listed sixth in assists per game average. Recently she also moved onto the career service aces list and is currently 14th all-time.
