
Tech Closes Season with Loss in Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Texas Tech finished the 2006 volleyball season with a loss on the road to the Missouri Tigers. The Red Raiders were swept in three by scores of 30-15, 30-28, 30-25. The Red and Black draw the year to a close with a 12-17 overall record and 5-15 in conference play. Missouri ends the regular season with a winning season at 17-12 overall with an 11-9 Big 12 record.
Texas Tech completed the match with .159 hitting, tallying 43 kills and 25 errors on 113 total attempts. Missouri out-hit the Red Raiders by marking .315 percentage on the night with 49 kills and 15 errors with 108 attempts. In the first frame alone, the Tigers finished with .625 hitting compared to Tech's -.031.
Philister Sang completed the night as the only Red Raider to notch double-digit kills as she knocked down 17 with five errors on 35 attempts, hitting .343 against the Tigers. Emily Ziegler led in setting duties as she tallied 30 assists. Sang and Ziegler recorded Tech's only service aces. In her final match as a Red Raider, Sang also registered 10 digs to complete a double-double. Amy Charlebois led in blocks with four, two solo and two assisted.
