Tech Struggles Against Tough Field on Second Day

WINDERMERE, Fla. - After ending the first day in a tie for 15th, the Red Raiders shot a higher round to slip to 17th place. The team has carded rounds of 300-304--604 for a 28-over two-round total. Tech sits five shots back from in-state rival Texas A&M, who has a 36-hole score of 599.
Tech individuals struggled as well, as each of the Red Raiders finished over-par on the day. Will Griffin fired the lowest round on the day for Tech with a 2-over 74. He moved from a tie for 55th to a tie for 52nd with rounds of 77-74--151. Brandon Lakatta has rounds of 77-75--152 to sit in a tie for 54th with teammate Santiago Rivas who has carded 75-77--152 thus far. Day one Tech leader Garrett Merrell finished with the highest second-round score out of the Red Raiders, and now sits in a tie for 61st. Jeremy Martin sits in a tie for 73rd with an 11-over 155.
