OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Texas Tech senior shortstop Cameron Blair was named to the USA Today All-America second-team earlier this afternoon and is one of three Big 12 players honored by the national publication.
Blair was the catalyst for the Red Raider offense in 2005 and was one of the most prolific hitters in the nation. His 17 home runs on the year were the best at his position and he finished the regular-season with a .363 average along with 12 doubles and 59 RBI. He is the first Red Raiders since Josh Bard (1998-1999) to earn All-America honors in back-to-back seasons.
In his first season with the Red Raiders in 2004, Blair earned third-team honors by Collegiate Baseball Magazine and was a consensus pre-season All-America pick in 2005.
