- Senior shortstop Cameron Blair snapped hit three-game hitting slump with a leadoff double in the top of the first. Blair finished x-for-x after going 0-for-16 dating back to the New Mexico game last Monday.
- Junior first baseman Trey Stewart picked up his second home run of the game in the top of the fifth when he laced a solo shot over the fence in right-center field. His home run tied the game at 6-6.
- The three-game sweep was the first suffered by Texas Tech this season and the first since the Sooners swept the Red Raiders here in 2003. Texas Tech is now 0-7-1 in its last eight games at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
- Oklahoma's three-game sweep ties the all-time series between the two schools at 21-21-1.
- Oklahoma's Ryan Rohlinger hit a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth and that was the first by a Tech opponent this season.
- Freshman catcher Matt Smith hit his second home run of the season in the top of eighth to pull Tech within four at 13-9.
- Junior designated hitter Brent Thomas hit his fifth home run of the season with one out in the top of the ninth.
- Despite the loss, Texas Tech clinched a berth in the upcoming Big 12 Conference Tournament by virtue of Texas' 11-1 win over Texas A&M earlier in the day. Texas Tech will be the eighth seed in the tournament, marking its lowest seeding in the history of the tournament.
- The seeds have been set for the Big 12 Tournament and will be as follows:
