
Volleyball Faces Final Match of the Season

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech volleyball will play its final match of the season on Sat., Nov. 26, at 7 p.m., in Waco, Texas, against the Baylor Bears. The Red Raiders are sitting at 11-19 and 4-15 on the season.
Last time out, Tech volleyball fell to the Texas A&M Aggies, 3-0, in College Station, this evening. The Maroon and White secured the match with game scores of 30-28, 30-28, 30-25.
Philister Sang tallied her ninth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs. Charlebois added 12 kills to the offense and seven digs to the defense. Kiley Lyons narrowly missed tallying her fifth double-double of the season with nine kills and 13 digs. Lyons and Brianna Florus ran the middle, each recording one solo block and six block assists.
In the last match-up between Tech and Baylor, Red Raider volleyball fell to the Bears, 3-1, in their Big 12 Conference opener at the United Spirit Arena, on Wed., Sept. 14.
Philister Sang and Amy Charlebois led the offense with 13 kills each. Sang also recorded 11 digs to register her fifth double-double of the season. Emily Ziegler and Holly Hicks directed the offense with 24 and 18 assists, respectively. Ziegler also led the team with four aces. Desiree Batista recorded 19 digs. Brianna Florus led the team with six total blocks, one solo and five assisted.
Tech leads the series with Baylor, 48-10, and the Red Raiders are 16-6 in Waco. The Bears are currently riding a seven-match losing streak. They have compiled 14-17 and 5-14 records during the season. They are currently sitting at ninth in the conference after finishing in a tie for ninth place during the 2004 campaign.
