Texas Tech enters the second round trailing BYU by only five shots after the Cougars turned in a 15-under par first round total of 273 to lead the event. Fellow Big 12 schools
The Red Raiders featured four players under par at the event, lead by Floren who tied his season-low round with his tournament opening 66. Freshman Jake Younana-Wise, in his first action of the season, fired a first-round two-under par 70 to finish the day in a tie for 25th place. Freshmen Brandon Lakatta and Christopher Gold each turned in sub-par rounds of 71, while senior Andrew Dresser completed play on Monday with a stroke total of 76.
