- Tonight's win gives Texas Tech 40 wins for the 2004 season and marks the 11th 40-win season in the history of the program.
- Texas Tech Head Coach Larry Hays won his 696th game at Texas Tech and surpassed his win total at Lubbock Christian where he served as head coach for 16 seasons and accumulated a record of 695-381.
- Senior RHP Steve Gooch surpassed Matt Miller on the all-time innings pitched list as he has now logged 271 innings in his three year career as a Red Raider.
- Texas Tech's two home runs tonight gives the team a total of 84 on the season and that ranks fifth all-time at Texas Tech.
- Texas Tech will be making an appearance in the NCAA Regional Championship game for the first time since the 2001 season when Tech played at the Cal-State Fullerton Regional.
- Tonight's comeback win was the fifth of the season for the Red Raiders.
