LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior Josh Brady picked up his second All-America honor in as many days but this time he was named to the CollegeBaseballInsider.com first-team as a designated hitter.
The All-America honor is the third of the year for the Lindon, Utah native as he was named to the USA Today/Sports Weekly list in late May. He finished the season with a .362 batting average along with 19 doubles, three triples, 20 home runs and 90 RBI. His 90 RBI is the second most in the nation and his 20 home runs led all players in the Big 12 Conference.
Brady was one of four Big 12 players to make the first team as he joined Nebraska's Alex Gordon (third base) and Texas' J.P. Howell (starting pitcher) and Huston Street (reliever).
Junior shortstop Cameron Blair and junior outfielder Michael Mask both earned honorable mention honors for their outstanding seasons. Blair led the Red Raiders with a .371 batting average and tallied 81 RBI and 14 home runs. Mask was second on the team behind Brady with 16 home runs and he finished with 70 RBI and a batting average of .335. Mask signed a professional contract with the Texas Rangers last week and will not return for his senior season.
