LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team takes to the road this weekend as it travels to Austin for Tech's last regular season match. The Lady Raiders will take on the 11th-ranked Longhorns on Sat., April 24, at 1 p.m. Tech is posting a spring record of 11-8 and 4-6 in Big 12 Conference play.
The Lady Raiders hope to finish out their spring season with a win over Texas, and plan to do so with the help of newly ranked senior Irina Tereschenko. Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has ranked Tereschenko No. 103.
"Texas is a very strong team and they have great depth on their team," said head coach Cari Groce. "We will have to play tough at every position to give ourselves a shot to win."
The Lady Raiders head to Norman, Okla., for the Big 12 Championships April 28-May 1.
