LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team will take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Sun., April 18, at 10 a.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center. This will be the last home match for the Lady Raiders, and second to last regular-season match before the Big 12 Championships beginning April 28th in Norman, Okla.
"Oklahoma is a very good team," said head coach Cari Groce. "They are well-coached and have been playing extremely well this season. We will have to focus on controlling our side of the court and executing our strengths."
Tech is currently sitting on an overall spring record of 11-7 and 4-5 in Big 12 Conference play, which is a vast improvement over last season's 3-15 spring record and 2-9 Big 12 record.
"To be at 11-7, the team is full of confidence and feeling very proud to have made such a turn around in such a short period of time," stated Groce. "I am very proud of this squad."
The Lady Raiders will travel to Austin on Sat., April 24, where they will take on the Texas Longhorns in their last match of the spring season.
