Szumanski Advances To Semifinals Of ITA Regionals

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech concludes day three of the ITA Regionals in Austin today. Sophomore Bojan Szumanski remains strong as he enters the semifinals.
Szumanski has remained consistent on the courts this weekend. Jacopo Tezza (TCU) saw defeat at the hands of Szumanski, 4-6, 7-5. In the third round, the score was 2-0, when Tezza retired due to cramping. Szumanski will hit the courts again tomorrow at 9 a.m. when he will face Jerry Makowski (Texas A&M) in the semifinals.
Senior Michael Innerebner and Szumanski teamed up in doubles action. Evghenii Corduneau and Dusan Tabak (Louisiana-Lafayette) defeated Innerebner and Szumanski, 9-8.
The tournament will pick back up tomorrow in Austin, Texas. This will be the last fall competition for the Texas Tech men's tennis team.
