LUBBOCK, Texas - Among a field of 20 teams, Texas Tech golf is in third place with 579, two over par, at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, N.M. Tech is one stroke behind second place, the University of New Mexico and 11 strokes behind tournament leader, Arizona State.
Haddrell shot a 70, a career low, and then surpassed it with a 67 to place in a first place tie. Freshman Oscar Floren and Junior Shaun Melville are in an eight-way tie for 12th after both shot 72 and 73, at one over par.
Freshman Jonathon Lenz is eight over par (75, 77) after two rounds for a 63rd place tie. Sophomore Eric Stenman rounds out the Red Raiders competing for Tech and is in a tie for 98th after shooting, 77 and 82.
Tech is the leader among all Big 12 schools at the tournament and is ahead of four teams ranked in the top 25. Play will conclude today with tee times beginning at 8:30.
