
Jordan Drafted By Boston In 33rd Round

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior outfielder Scooter Jordan was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 33rd round of the 2003 MLB First-Year Player Draft earlier today.
Jordan, a native of Dallas, Texas, led the Red Raiders in batting average in both seasons in a Tech uniform as he hit .365 as a junior and .381 as a senior. He earned various All-Big 12 honors in both years of his Texas Tech career.
Jordan joins Christian Colonel and Jeff Karstens as the other Red Raiders to be drafted in this years MLB Draft. Colonel was taken in the fifth round by the Colorado Rockies while Karstens was drafted in the 19th round by New York. Karstens has indicated that he will most likely return for his senior season while Colonel intends to sign with the Rockies in the next two weeks.
