
Texas Tech "B" Team in 14th Place

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech freshman golfer Casey Jones shot a 4-over par 74 to lead the Red Raider "B" Team at The Maxwell at Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Okla., Saturday.
The Red Raiders currently stand in 14th place in the 15-team field after posting a team total of 304. The second round was delayed due to thunderstorms and got underway late this afternoon. Final second round results may not be available until Sunday morning.
Jones leads a group of Red Raiders, with the exception of Andrew Dresser, who haven't seen a lot of tournament action this season. Tech's first five is taking the weekend off in preparation for the NCAA West Regional in Manhattan, Kan., May 15-17.
Dresser, Tech's statistical leader in stroke average at 73.8, is tied in 55th place along with Drew Hackler. Both turned in rounds of 76. William Haddrell shot a 78 and is in a 66th place tie, while Brian Smith is tied in 82nd place with an 82.
Oklahoma State leads the event by six strokes over SMU after shooting and even-par 280. OSU's Hunter Mahan, the 2003 Big 12 individual champion and Master's participant, is tied with Oklahoma's Blake Martin for the lead with a 3-under par 67.
The final round is set to begin Sunday morning, barring completion of the second round due to possible weather delays.
