
Men's Golf finishes 5th at Big 12 Championship

LUBBOCK, Texas - Behind the 10th-place finish of Andrew Dresser the Texas Tech men's golf team wrapped up play in the Big 12 Conference Championships with a fifth-place finish shooting a three-round total of 85-over par (311) at the Southern Hills golf course in Tulsa, Okla.
Dresser was followed by Erik Stenman who finished 16th after shooting a team-low 76 over the final 18 holes. Mark Hull (31st), Brooks Kelley (41st) and Brad Jacobson (54th) round out the top 5 Red Raiders.
The fifth-place finish was the best finish for a Red Raider squad since finishing third in the 1976 Southwest Conference Championships.
Oklahoma State's Hunter Mahan won the individual title with a three-round total of 2-under par. Texas' Jason Harwick was second at 11-over, while J.J. Wall (Texas), Chris Marshall (Kansas) and David Tasker (Texas A&M) all tied for third at 13-over.
Texas was followed by Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Tech round out the top 5 team finishes.
