FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior Irina Tereschenko remained undefeated on the season thanks to a match win over Sandhya Kanury of North Texas but was one of the lone bright spot for the women's tennis team as the Red Raiders lost six of eight singles matches.
Tereschenko defeated Sandyha Kanury of North Texas 6-3, 7-5 to move to 3-0 on the season while Beverly Dawson picked up the other singles win by beating Paty Aburto of TCU 7-4, 6-4.
The doubles side of the tournament was much brighter for Texas Tech as two of the three teams came away victorious. The doubles tandem of Tereschenko/Dawson defeated Aburto/Perez of TCU 8-4 and Tara Browning/Dana Giles defeated Shelander/Rudick by default.
The women's tennis team returns to action Oct 11-12 at the Houston Invitational in Houston, Texas.
