LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Women's Tennis Team will kickoff the fall portion of their schedule this weekend as the team will travel to Fort Worth to participate in the TCU Invitational.
This year's squad hopes to use the fall schedule as a springboard for what most are hoping will be a solid year in 2003. Last year's team finished with a 10-13 overall record but head coach Virginia Brown expects more out of her club this season.
"We have some really talented newcomers that are going to turn some heads," said Brown. With the kids we have coming back from last season, I think we have the chance to be a solid club."
The student-athletes playing in the top six spots this weekend at TCU will be Irina Tereschenko, Beverly Dawson, Anchen Lombard, Kendall Brooks, Tara Browning and Dana Giles, respectively. The doubles teams will consist of Tereschenko/Dawson, Lombard/Brooks and Browning/Jacobs (Catherine).
