
Tech Baseball Ranks No. 14 In National Home Attendance

LUBBOCK, Texas - The NCAA announced the 2002 season home baseball attendance rankings today and Texas Tech came in at No. 14 and was one of five Big 12 schools to rank in the Top 15.
Texas Tech tallied a season total of 95,236 fans at Dan Law Field for an average of 2,886 giving the Red Raiders the No. 14 ranking. Texas A&M led all Big 12 schools with an average attendance of 5,140 followed by Texas (4,539) and Nebraska (4,110). Baylor rounded out the Top 15 as the Bears averaged 2,882 that was good enough for the No. 15 ranking.
"This national ranking is a true testament to our loyal fans," said Texas Tech Head Coach Larry Hays. "I personally want to thank everyone who came out to our games last year and I want them to know that our players appreciate it to. Hopefully this year we can move into the Top 10 and make Dan Law Field one of the most exciting places to play in all of college baseball."
