LUBBOCK, Texas - Riding a three-match win streak, the Texas Tech volleyball team will head to Austin, Texas, for a showdown with the Texas Longhorns in Gregory Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
Tech (11-13, 6-9) has taken nine of its last 10 games and is in the midst of its longest Big 12 win streak since the 2000 season. Kelly Johnson leads the team with 424 kills on the season and was the Big 12 Player of the Week last week. Melissa McGehee broke out in Wednesday's match against the Baylor Bears as she hit over .400 for the match.
Texas is coming off a sweep of the Oklahoma Sooners but has dropped four of its last six and last three at home after falling to Nebraska and Colorado last week.
Though behind the eightball, the Red Raiders still have a mathematical chance of being eligible for post season play but must win at least four of their final five matches including three on the road.
