Kelly's U.S. Amateur Title Hopes End

LUBBOCK, Texas - Daniel Summerhays defeated Texas Tech's Brooks Kelly (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) 2-up this morning, ending Kelly's run in the 101st U.S. Amateur at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.
Summerhays went 1-up after the seventh hole to remain in the lead for good.
Kelly was one of 64 golfers out of 260 who qualified for the match play rounds during Monday and Tuesday's stroke play. Kelly won his first round matchup on Wednesday to advance to today's round.
Kelly's advancement in the tournament was the best for a Red Raider golfer in the history of the event.
