Red Raiders Conclude Action at Texas Relays

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track and field squad concluded competition at the 74th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Friday, with senior Leigh Daniel leading the way after posting a victory in the women's 5000 meters.
Daniel finished ahead of 19 other runners in the field with a time of 17:05.72.
Tami Zachary and Monique Wright-Cruse both ran in the women's 100 meters preliminaries, with Zachary posting a time of 11.71 and Wright-Cruse a mark of 11.65.
The Tech women also competed in three relays on Friday, finishing the 4x100 relay in 45.56, the 4x400 relay in 3:42.12, and the sprint medley relay in 3:52.64. The time in the 4x400 was good for first in the heat.
Tracy Anderson also competed for the women in discus, posting a mark of 150-3 for ninth place.
On the men's side, freshman Saidric Williams ran 10.58 in the 100 meter preliminaries, while Scott Moore finished the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 9:44.03.
The Red Raiders travel next weekend to El Paso, Texas, for the UTEP Invitational. The Big 12 Championships begin April 26 in Waco, Texas, on the Baylor University campus.
