Red Raider Track Heads to Waco

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech track squad will compete in the Dr Pepper Invitational on the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas, this weekend, with 40 athletes taking part in the all-day meet this Saturday.
The Red Raiders won a dozen events at last week's Texas Tech open, including senior Leigh Daniel posting victories in the women's 1500 and 3000 meters. Tech also swept the women's 100, 200 and 400 meters with wins from Ashley Mitchell, Tami Zachary and Melonie Barrow, respectively.
For the men, Antonio Franklin took the 400 meters, while freshman Dwayne Benoit won the 1500 and Ryan Luna was victorious in the javelin. Both the men and women swept the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays.
The Red Raiders return home next weekend to host the Texas Tech Invitational on Saturday, March 31, at R.P. Fuller Stadium.
