LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior outside hitter Melissa McGehee led Texas Tech with 16 kills but it was not nearly enough as the Missouri Tigers swept Tech 3-0 (30-23, 31-29, 30-23) on Wednesday night in a key Big 12 match at the United Spirit Arena. The loss was Tech's fifth home loss of the season.
With the loss, Texas Tech falls to 16-11 overall and 7-9 in the Big 12 while Missouri improves to 20-8 and 10-8 in league play.
Melissa McGehee paced the Red Raiders with 16 kills and 14 digs but as a team the Red Raiders hit a miserable .086. Texas Tech committed 32 errors on the night which is the most in a three-game match this season.
Texas Tech will play the Iowa State Cyclones at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Carroll, Iowa and then close out the weekend with a match against No. 2 Nebraska in Lincoln on Sunday at 2 p.m.
