Men's Golf Sweeps Tournament

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team fired an 899 (300, 287, 312) to win the SFA Crown Classic in Lufkin, Texas. Tech, who is ranked 30th, finished one stroke ahead of 11th-ranked Lamar and 30 strokes ahead of Big 12 opponent Kansas State. Tech has finished in the top five in all tournaments this season.
Senior David Bolen led Tech to a victory, finishing in second place after shooting a two-over par 218 (77,66,75). In his first appearance of the season, sophomore Brad Jacobson fired a 221 (74,70,77) to earn his best collegiate finish of fifth place.
Senior Kyle Willmann finished in a 13th-place tie after shooting a 225 (72,75,78). Raider newcomer Brian Smith shot a 235 (77,76,82) to finish in a 45th-place tie. Rounding out the Raider roster is Mark Hull who finished in a 68th-place tie after shooting a 241 (80, 79, 82).
Tech will be back in action Oct. 22-23 at the Lamar Intercollegiate in Biloxi, Miss.
