2001 Baseball Schedule Announced

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech head baseball coach Larry Hays announced the 2001 schedule on Saturday which features 35 home games including a three-game series with Cal-State Northridge and Big 12 rival Texas A&M.
The Red Raiders will open the 2001 campaign at home with a four-game series with Howard University on Friday Jan. 26. Following the series with Howard, the Red Raiders will travel to Houston, Texas to play in the inaugural Enron Tournament to be held at Enron Field, which is home to the Houston Astros. Tech will come home from Houston and open a four-game homestand with a single-game against West Texas A&M on Tuesday Feb. 6 and then play host to Cal-Sate Northridge in a three-game series beginning Feb. 9.
Following the series with Cal-State Northridge, head coach Larry Hays and company will head west for the Greater San Diego Tournament Feb. 15-18. In final preparations for Big 12 play, Tech will host the New Mexico Lobos in a three-game series at Dan Law Field Feb. 23-25.
Tech opens the 2001 Big 12 season at home with 2000 NCAA regional finalist Nebraska in a three-game series beginning on March 2. Tech will play host to rival Texas A&M April 13-15 and conclude conference play at Baylor May 11-13.
