OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.-- - A three-run sixth inning powered second-seeded Nebraska over sixth-seeded Texas Tech, 4-1, in the Big 12 Softball Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Texas Tech took an early lead, scoring its lone run in the top of the first inning on a Lynsey Haij double. Nebraska's Kim Ogee stole home on a double steal in the third to tie the game at one run apiece. The Huskers put the game away with their three-run sixth frame.
Nebraska took the lead when Jamie Fuente and Jennifer Lizama scored on a Jenifer Williams single. During the next at-bat, Williams crossed the plate on an Amanda Renfro wild pitch to bring the game to its final score of 4-1. In the win, Jenny Voss pitched the game's final 3.1 innings and improved her record to 20-8. Renfro fell to 15-20 with the loss. The win was the Huskers' 15th straight, a season high, and improved their record to 47-18.
Nebraska will play Friday at 5:30 p.m. Texas Tech (19-35) will face ninth-seeded Missouri Friday at 12:30 p.m.
