Red Raiders Upended by Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. - The Texas Tech Red Raider softball team dropped a conference game 5-0 to the Oklahoma Sooners this afternoon at the Sooner Softball Complex in Norman. The loss drops Tech to 14-29 on the season and 3-5 in the Big 12. Oklahoma now stands at 47-7, 11-1. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning. A leadoff triple off the bat of LaKisha Washinton signaled the start of a big inning for the Sooners. OU nailed three hits in the inning and took a 2-0 lead into the sixth. In the bottom half of the sixth the Sooners got three more runs when Washington nailed a shot over the right field fence, making the score 5-0. The Red Raiders couldn't find a way to hit Erin Stewart in the sixth or seventh. The Tech team notched only three hits, their lowest single game total in conference play. The two teams will be back in action tomorrow when they meet at 1 p.m.
