Women's Tennis Play Three in Three Days

The Texas Tech women's tennis team, 2-12 on the year and 1-7 in the Big 12, travel to South Texas this weekend to take-on Lamar, Rice and Houston. The Red Raiders two victories have come on the road this season against Wyoming and Iowa State.
The Red Raiders battle Lamar on Friday, March 31. Lamar enters the contest 9-8 on a four-match losing streak. They are led by freshman Barbara Schraml in the No. 1 singles position.
Tech travels to Rice, Saturday, April 1 to take on the 7-8 Owls then wrap-up the weekend on Sunday, April 2 at Houston. Houston, 7-8 is coming off a win against Drake. In doubles action, Galina Seliounina and Mette Sigmundstad are 12-3 to lead the squad in position No. 1.
"This has been a tough year and our schedule is very good, but we have not been able to rise to the occasion," women's coach Virginia Brown said. "We've played hard in our last few matches, we just need to get the bounces going our way. Hopefully we can turn the corner this weekend."
The Red Raiders lone senior on the squad, Amanda Earhart is coming off a win against league opponent Colorado. Earhart's record improved to 5-9, 3-5 in the Big 12. In doubles action, Earhart teams up with Ayako Suzuki in position No. 2 to lead Tech. Earhart and Suzuki are 7-7, 4-4 in the Big 12 after falling in Colorado.
