Women's Tennis End Round One on a Good Note

The Texas Tech women's tennis team closed the first day of the Baylor Tennis Classic in Waco, Texas with 10 wins.
Stephanie Mueller, Sonnia Orellana and co-captain Noel Ruiz ended the day undefeated. Mueller and Ruiz finished each match in two-sets. Mueller will play for flight "E" singles champion on Saturday and Ruiz will take-on Monica Gonzalez of Baylor for the "C" singles champion.
Orellana will compete for the "B" singles champion against Baylor's Frida Borjesson. Borjesson fell to Tech's sophomore transfer Barbara Schraml at the TCU tournament.
Eight teams are competing in the tournament including Tech along with Baylor, Abilene Christian, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, UT-Arlington and UT-San Antonio. Play will resume on Saturday at 8 a.m. with four flights of singles and three flights of doubles.
