Tech Rolls Past Oklahoma, 3-0

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team improved their season record to 16-1 after dropping the Oklahoma Sooners in three games (15-9, 15-6, 15-7) Wednesday night at United Spirit Arena.
With the win, Tech improves to 5-1 in the Big 12 while Oklahoma falls to 1-5. Tech was able to defeat the Sooners in three games marking the first time this season that Tech has beaten a conference opponent in three games.
Tech jumped out early and took the first game by a score of 15-9. Sophomore outside hitter Melissa McGehee led the way with five kills and four digs. Tech was able to win the second game of the match 15-6 marking the first time the Red Raiders have won game-two of a match since LSU on Sept. 16. At the intermission, Tech was led by Melissa McGehee's nine kills and senior Colleen Smith's 10 digs.
Tech was able to seal the match by taking game-three by a final score of 15-7. On the night, Texas Tech was led by Melissa McGehee who finished with 12 kills and eight digs. Colleen Smith finished the night with 13 digs.
Texas Tech will host Colorado on Saturday in United Spirit Arena at 1 p.m.
