Volleyball Falls To No. 1 Nebraska

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team fell victim to top-ranked Nebraska as the Cornhuskers edged the Red Raiders 3-1 (10-15, 15-12, 10-15, 9-15) in Big 12 Conference action on Saturday.
With the loss, Tech fell to 16-4 on the year and 5-4 in the Big 12 while Nebraska remains perfect with a record of 17-0 and 9-0 in conference.
Texas Tech gave the Cornhuskers a run for their money as Tech evened the match at 1-1 before the intermission. Tech won game-two of the match to give the Raiders some momentum after falling 10-15 in game-one. Game-two was the first time that Nebraska had lost a conference game all season.
Leading the way for Texas Tech was sophomore Melissa McGehee who tallied 20 kills and 22 digs. Laura Pilakowski led Nebraska with 18 kills and 10 digs.
Texas Tech and Nebraska played in front of 1,731 fans ranking the match fourth on the all-time attendance record list at Texas Tech.
Texas Tech will travel to Ames, Iowa on Wednesday to face the Cyclones in a 7 p.m. match.
