Cockrum Named Academic All-America

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior linebacker Keith Cockrum today was named to the GTE Academic All-America Defensive First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Cockrum will receive the honor at a special banquet and ceremony in New York City tonight.

The Goldthwaite, Texas, native currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average and is a triple major in MIS, Finance and Economics. Cockrum finished the 1999 season fifth on the Red Raider squad with 71 tackles.
