Raiders Win Fourth Straight

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Rayford Young scored 21 points Saturday, and Texas Tech shook off a sluggish start en route to a 67-54 triumph against Louisiana-Lafayette.
The victory was the fourth in a row for the Red Raiders (4-1), who overcame a cold-shooting start by scoring 10 of the final 12 points in the first half.
Louisiana-Lafayette (2-2) led 20-16 with just more than six minutes remaining in the first half, but Tech rallied down the stretch for a 26-22 halftime lead.
The Red Raiders then opened the second half with a 17-3 scoring run that pushed the lead to 43-25 with just more than 15 minutes remaining in the game.
The Ragin' Cajuns rebounded with a 12-4 run midway through the second half, cutting the deficit from 16 points to 51-42 with 10:27 remaining on a 3-pointer by Blane Harmon.
Tech answered the flurry with 10 straight points, stretching the lead to 65-46 with 3:24 remaining on two free throws by Young.
Tech limited the Ragin' Caguns to 12 points in the final eight minutes.
Harmon and Reggie DeGray paced Louisiana-Lafayette with 16 points apiece.
Mario Layne was the only other Red Raider in double figures with 19 points.
