Texas Tech Volleyball Defeats Oklahoma

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Red Raiders defeated the visiting Oklahoma Sooners in volleyball action at the United Spirit Arena 3-0 before 274 fans. The victory gives Tech a record of 17-14 (6-12 Big 12) on the season while the Sooners fall to 8-20 (3-15) for the year.
It was the team's first game in the new United Spirit Arena and the Red Raiders opened it in style, winning the match in a total time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Tech won the three games by scores of 15-6, 15-7 and 15-7. The Red Raiders out hit the Sooners .295(57-19-129) to .136 (41-24-125). Ann Romjue posted a double-double for Tech with 17 kills and 15 digs.
Lori Garber continued her torrid pace, hitting .619 (15-2-21) to earn her fourth consecutive game with a plus-.400 hitting percentage. Colleen Smith also pitched in with a double digit kill performance (11). The 11 kills moved her up on the Tech all-time single season list for kills. She is now in a tie for ninth place 335 kills on the season.
Tech has two games remaining in their season. The Red Raiders travel to Austin on Wednesday, November 24, for a match against Texas and host Missouri on Saturday night, November 27.
