Texas Tech Baseball Completes Second Day of Fall Series

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball program completed its second day of the Red-Black series as the Red Team defeated the Black Team 11-1 Tuesday at Dan Law Field. The Red Team now takes commanding 2-0 lead in the seven-game weekly series. The Red-Black series runs through Saturday, October 9. Game three will be played tomorrow game will start at 4:30 p.m., moved back an hour from the normal 3:30 p.m. start.
Outfielder Miles Durham and infielder/pitcher J.J. Newman both finished with a triple and double on the afternoon. The day also saw a trade as designated hitter/first baseman Chaz Eiguren was shipped to the Red Team for second baseman Scott Holzhauer prior to the game. Senior outfielder Marco Cunningham showed the most emotion as he was "robbed" of two base hits- a short liner to rightfield and an infield grounder in which he was called out. Game one saw Texas Tech starter Brandon Roberson power the Red Team to a 12-2 victory as he pitched six innings of shutout baseball. Kevin Tracey pitched five innings for the Black Team.
