• Damitria Buchanan enters her second season as an assistant coach at Texas Tech in 2013.

• Main responsibilities will include recruiting, post play, academic liaison and scouting.

• Played an integral part in helping Tech land one of its most promising recruiting classes in 2014 after just one year on the South Plains.

• Comes to Tech after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.

• Helped guide the Ladyjacks to the Southland Conference Tournament Championship and a 23-win season in 2011-12. The increase in 11 wins from the 2010-11 season (12) to 2011-12 (23) was tied for the sixth-biggest turnaround in the nation.

• As a player, she helped guide Texas A&M to three Big 12 titles and four Top 25 finishes -- three top-10 finishes in each of her final three seasons.

• Named team captain during her senior season in 2009-10, and was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection.

• Received her bachelor[apos]s degree from Texas A&M in 2010 and remained in the College Station area to pursue a master[apos]s degree while serving as a teacher and coach at A&M Consolidated Middle School.
