SOPHOMORE SEASON (2018-19)
Hicks scored a career-high five points in a win over West Virginia and finished his second season with the Red Raiders having played in 16 games… He was 2-for-4 in seven minutes of play against the Mountaineers and would also score three points in wins over Incarnate Word and Baylor… Hicks had a career-best three rebounds against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and completed the season with 10 rebounds… He has now played on teams that reached the Elite Eight in his freshman season and the national championship game as a sophomore.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2017-18)
Hicks saw action in nine games with eight appearances coming in nonconference games … Made his career debut against South Alabama (Nov. 10) in season opener … Scored his first career points on a pair of free throws versus Savannah State (Nov. 25) … Knocked down a three-pointer against Abilene Christian (Dec. 22) … Made his lone Big 12 appearance at No. 20 West Virginia (Feb. 26).
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
Played for Drew Coffman, a former Red Raider, at Decatur High School in Decatur, Texas … Amassed 31.3 points and 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game en route to District 9-4A co-MVP accolades … Also named TABC All-Region and All-State … Team won a share of district title and made postseason run to Class 4A Region II quarterfinals … Joined program as a walk-on in May 2017.
