Red Raiders finish runner-up at Red Raider Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas โ The Texas Tech women's golf team finished as the runner-up Wednesday at the Red Raider Invitational, closing the 54-hole event at 7-over 871 at its home course, The Rawls Course.
The Red Raiders entered Wednesday's final round with a four-shot lead over BYU, but the Cougars rallied with a 2-under 286 to overtake Texas Tech. The Red Raiders carded a final-round 4-over 292. BYU claimed the team title at 5-over 869, while Texas Tech finished two shots behind.
Despite falling short of the team title, Texas Tech placed three golfers inside the top five of the 68-player field, led by Maja Ambroziak and Tarini Bhoga, who both finished tied for third at even-par 216. Both were six shots behind Sam Houston's Isabelle Hurrion, who claimed individual medalist honors at 6-under 210. Hurrion was the only player in the 68-player field to shoot under par in all three rounds.
Ambroziak started Wednesday in third and finished tied for third, shooting 2-over 74 to end the event at even-par. She shot an opening-round 1-over 73, followed by a 3-under 69 in Tuesday's 36-hole marathon.
Bhoga continued her strong Red Raider debut, closing with the team's low round of the day, a 2-under 70. After beginning her final round with a bogey on her fourth hole, Bhoga remained bogey-free the rest of the way and added three birdies to finish at even-par 216 (76-70-70). Her tie for third marked her first top-five finish at Texas Tech after a 24th-place finish in the season opener.
Cameron Freund also secured a top-five finish, tying for fifth at 2-over 218 (70-73-75). Freund opened the tournament with a 2-under 70 and remained inside the top five throughout the final day before finishing with a 3-over 75.
Klara Hurtova, competing as an individual, finished tied for ninth at 4-over 220 (70-78-72). After opening with a 2-under 70, Hurtova bounced back from a second-round 78 with an even par 72 on Wednesday to earn her first top-10 finish of the season.
Parat Sukanant closed with a 1-over 73 to finish tied for 25th at 11-over 227 (76-78-73), while Angel Yin finished tied for 30th at 12-over 228 (75-73-80).
Constance Detroye and Roisin Scanlon, both competing as individuals, each finished tied for 62nd at 33-over 249. Detroye carded rounds of 83-78-88, while Scanlon finished at 83-82-84.
Texas Tech will return to competition Oct. 12-13 at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club.
