FAIRFIELD, Texas โย Maja Ambroziak continued to lead Texas Tech at The Fin on Tuesday, carding an even-par 72 in the second round to climb into the top 10 at Freestone Lake and Golf Club.
Ambroziak moved into a tie for seventh at 2-over 146 (74-72) through 36 holes, improving two shots from her opening round. The senior played her first nine holes at even par before moving to 1-under through 12 holes. A bogey on her final hole brought her back to even par for the round.
Texas Tech posted a 19-over 307 in the second round and remains ninth in the nine-team field at 44-over 620 (313-307). The Red Raiders improved by six shots from Monday's opening round as they head into Wednesday's final round.
Angel Yin is tied for 38th at 12-over 156 (78-78), while Tarini Bhoga sits tied for 44th at 14-over 158 (80-78). Cameron Freund improved by two shots in the second round with a 7-over 79 and is tied for 50th at 16-over 160.
Parat Sukanant carded a 7-over 79 on Tuesday and is 54th at 18-over 162 (83-79). Klara Hurtova, competing as an individual, also posted a 7-over 79 to sit tied for 52nd at 17-over 161 (82-79).
Texas A&M leads the team standings at even-par 576, followed by Oklahoma State at 9-over 585 and host Mississippi State at 10-over 586.
The Fin concludes Wednesday with the third and final round at Freestone Lake and Golf Club. Ambroziak will be seeking her second top-10 this season, and her 10th top-10 finish of her career.
