The infielder comes to Lubbock after standout freshman season at LA Tech
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech softball announced the signing of infielder Bradi Gallaway on Thursday. A Whitesboro, Texas native, Gallaway returns to West Texas after spending her freshman year at Louisiana Tech.
Gallaway played and started in all 56 games this past season as a freshman. She hit .317 with 53 hits and a team-leading 12 doubles. She was also second on the team in home runs (11), RBI (47) and total bases (98) while leading the team with 28 walks.
Gallaway's glove also impressed during her first collegiate season, fielding .965 on nearly 200 chances. She is strong academically as well, being named to the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and earning CUSA Academic Medalist honors.
"What stood out to me about Bradi, after watching her on film over the past few weeks, was her athleticism and arm strength," Gerry Glasco said. "She was a clutch hitter and fierce competitor for her team all year and brings the ability to play any position on the field including catcher. I could see her being a big home run hitter for us in the coming seasons and it's always nice to bring a West Texas kid back home. Her talent mixed with her IQ makes her a tremendous pick up for our program."
Gallaway joins Jayden Heavener and Moriah Polar in Texas Tech's portal class.
