Hughes and Ferraro tabbed to MLB Pipeline’s Top-200

The former outfield tandem were named the No. 47 (Hughes) and No. 189 (Ferraro) prospects for next month’s draft
LUBBOCK, Texas – Outfielders Logan Hughes (No. 47) and Caden Ferraro (No. 189) were named to the updated MLB-dot-com Top-200 Draft Prospects.
Compiled by Jonathan Mayo, Hughes was named the No. 47 prospect in next month's MLB Draft in Philadelphia while Ferraro checked in at No. 189 in the updated rankings.
A native of Deland, Hughes hit a team-best .375 in his 200 at-bats in 2026, hitting 18 home runs and driving in 71. Hughes walked 50 times and was hit by six pitches, striking out just 33 times in 55 games.
Hughes slugged an impressive .735 and recorded and on-base percentage of .510, finishing the season with a team-leading OPS of 1.263.
A career .350 hitter at Tech in his 107 career games played, Hughes hit 37 career home runs in two seasons and drove in 129 runs. Hughes scored 120 career runs and had 144 career hits. He walked 76 times and struck out just 57 times, recorded a career on-base percentage of .461.
The 2025 Big 12 leader in home runs, Hughes became just the second Red Raider in program history (Josh Bard) to reach 20 career Big 12 longballs. Hughes' 37 total home runs are the tied for the seventh most in program history.
Known for raising his game in conference play, Hughes went 91-for-237 (.384) in his 60 career Big 12 games launching 20 home runs and driving in 60. Hughes' career on-base percentage in Big 12 play sits at .466 and he slugged .696 over those 60 games, recording an OPS of 1.162.
Hughes' 60 career Big 12 RBIs are the fifth-most in program history while his 91 career hits are the ninth-most in program history. Hughes' .384 league only average is the fourth-highest mark in Texas Tech history.
Tech's other top-200 prospect, Ferraro, also had a strong 2026 season after transferring in from Blinn College.
A former 2024 JUCO World Series Champion, Ferraro hit .374 (70-of-187) and had 19 doubles, eight home runs and 46 RBIs. Recording a positive strikeout-to-walk ratio (39 BBs, 36 Ks), Ferraro slugged .604 and had an on-base percentage of .481.
Ferraro was named a Second Team (DH) All-Big 12 selection, while Hughes was earned First Team (OF) All-Big 12 honors.
The 2026 MLB Draft is set for July 11-12 in Philadelphia home of the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. Peacock/NBC will air the first hour beginning at 12:30 p.m. (CT) with the rest of the coverage continuing on Peacock, MLB Network and MLB-dot-com.
