Tech completes second round, resumes NCAA play Sunday

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Texas Tech completed the second round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championships on Saturday at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, finishing the day tied for 29th at 24-over 600 through 36 holes.
The Red Raiders carded a second-round 16-over 304 during the afternoon wave after opening the championship with an 8-over 296 on Friday.
Denisa Vodickova continues to pace Texas Tech individually, sitting tied for 94th at 5-over 149 after rounds of 73-76 through the opening two days of stroke play.
Lauren Zaretsky is tied for 109th at 6-over 150 following a second-round 76, while Cameron Freund and Maja Ambroziak are both tied for 121st at 8-over 152. Freund rebounded from an opening-round 78 with a 2-over 74 on Saturday, while Ambroziak followed her first-round 74 with a 78 in round two.
Klara Hurtova rounds out the Red Raider lineup, tied for 128th at 9-over 153 after posting rounds of 75-78.
The NCAA Championships continue Sunday with the third and final round before the field is cut to the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on advancing teams. Texas Tech will once again tee off from hole No. 1 beginning at 1:40 p.m. PT with Klara Hurtova, followed by Cameron Freund (1:51 p.m.), Maja Ambroziak (2:02 p.m.), Lauren Zaretsky (2:13 p.m.), and Denisa Vodickova (2:24 p.m.).
