Zaretsky earns second-team All-Big 12 honors
May 01, 2026 | Women's Golf
LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech's Lauren Zaretsky was named second-team All-Big 12, the league office announced Friday. It marks the first career postseason honor for the decorated Red Raider senior.
Honors were awarded based on the April 29 Clippd rankings. The top 10 golfers in the league earned first-team All-Big 12 recognition, while those ranked 11–20 were named to the second team.
Zaretsky, ranked No. 69 by Clippd, led Texas Tech this season in scoring average (71.5), rounds in the 60s (5), rounds at par or better (21) and subpar finishes (15). She also paced the Red Raiders in top-five finishes (3), top-10 finishes (5) and top-20 finishes (8), while earning her second career victory with medalist honors at the Red Raider Invitational.
She was also named Big 12 Golfer of the Week on Feb. 12 after recording two top-five finishes in a seven-day span between the Paradise Invitational (Feb. 2–4) and the Thunderbird Intercollegiate (Feb. 9–10) at Tucson Country Club.
Zaretsky is the first Red Raider to earn all-conference honors since Amy Taylor in 2022. The Big 12 previously used first- and second-team formats from its inaugural season in 1997 through 2006, before shifting to a single All-Big 12 Team from 2007–2025. The league reintroduced first and second teams in 2026 following conference expansion.
Zaretsky leads a Texas Tech squad that was selected to compete in the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional, set to begin May 11 at the University of Michigan Golf Course.
