Tech hires Brock Duckworth as GK coach

The Texan comes back home to Texas after spending three seasons at USF
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Soccer and head coach Tom Stone have hired USFs Brock Duckworth as an assistant coach and the program's goalkeeper coach, Stone announced Wednesday.
Duckworth comes to Lubbock after spending the last three seasons in Tampa as USFs Associate Head Coach.
While with the Bulls, Duckworth helped the Bulls go 31-16 in three seasons as USF won the 2023 AAC Regular Season title.
In his time at USF, Duckworth was also responsible for working with the Bulls goalkeeping unit that included 2024 AAC Goalkeeper of the Year Leire Herraez Gallach who went 19-6-7 the last two seasons including an impressive 2024 campaign where she allowed just seven goals (0.39 GAA) in 19 matches.
In three seasons under the tutelage of Duckworth, Herraez Gallach recorded 19 clean sheets in 49 total matches, recording a goals-against-average of 0.73 and a save percentage of .826.
Prior to arriving in Tampa, Duckworth coached in the State of Texas at UTSA where he helped the Roadrunners win the 2022 CUSA title and record the highest winning percentage in UTSA history (.636).
Duckworth came to San Antonio after spending the 2018 and 2019 seasons at FGCU where he helped the Eagles win the 2019 ASUN Regular Season Championship and go 24-8-4 in his two seasons in Ft Meyers.
During his time with the Eagles, he helped goalie Melissa Weck become a Second Team All A-Sun selection as Weck was named the league's Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year. During her two seasons under the tutelage Duckworth, Weck recorded nine total shutouts and recorded back-to-back seasons of 60+ saves and a save percentage of at least .800.
Duckworth also has served as an assistant coach at East Carolina (2017), FIU (2016) and Winthrop (2013-14) in addition to serving as Arkansas' Director of Scouting and Technology during the 2015 season.
A native of Parker, Texas, Duckworth was a four-year standout in goal for UNCW where he was a two-time all-league selection and finished first in UNCW history in all-time goals-against-average and is second all-time in clean sheets with 2024.
Duckworth earned his degree in Communication Studies from UNCW in 2011 and played professionally for the Charleston Battery, the Charlotte Eagles and the Wilmington Hammerheads.
Throughout his decade-long coaching career Duckworth has coached 49 All-Conference selections, four Conference Players of the Year and four Defensive Players of the Year.
Duckworth and his wife Heather have a daughter Harper and a son Everett.
