TELEVISION INFORMATION
There will not be any television or streaming coverage of the Texas Tech Spring Game.
SCRIMMAGE FORMAT
Joey McGuire will put the Red Raiders through several competitive situations over the course of the 90-minute scrimmage, including a two-minute drill, 3rd-and-long scenarios and a red zone lockout period. The scrimmage will also include 7-on-7 passing periods as well as a 9-on-7 drill the Red Raiders utilize to improve on both sides of the ball against the run. There will not be a scoring format or running clock outside of certain situational team periods.
Even without a traditional game setup, the scrimmage will give Red Raider fans a first look at many of Texas Tech's newcomers, including quarterback Brendan Sorsby. Texas Tech also revamped its defensive line and wide receiver room in the offseason thanks to one of the top transfer portal classes in the country. The Red Raiders' list of top returners expected to play Friday include returning All-America defensive lineman A.J. Holmes Jr., running backs J'Koby Williams and Cameron Dickey, linebackers Ben Roberts and John Curry as well as safety Brenden Jordan.
SOUTH END ZONE FIELD CLUB TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE
There's not a better spot on gamedays in the fall than the Gary Petersen Field Club in the South End Zone Building of Jones AT&T Stadium. Texas Tech still has limited space available for fans who want to try out the south end zone experience for the first time, giving them access to the field club and loge seating, food and non-alcoholic beverages and the opportunity to take a picture with the Big 12 Championship trophy. A cash bar will also be available in the field club. Fans can purchase their south end zone experience ticket here. Â
All tickets will be delivered digitally from the Texas Tech Ticket Office and provide access to both the field club and the loge premium area off the south concourse. Fans in these areas will also have limited access to the field and will receive additional information later this week from the Red Raider Club.
TEAM AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED AT HALFTIME
Texas Tech will welcome back several letterwinners Friday, including multiple members of its Big 12 Championship roster. Joey McGuire and his staff will present the team awards for the 2025 season during a break in Friday's scrimmage as part of a tradition that dates back to 1961 and features the likes of the Pete Cawthon Memorial Team MVP, the Dell Morgan Memorial Courage Award and the E.J. Holub Double Tough Award, among others. McGuire and his staff brought back the longtime tradition upon his hiring at Texas Tech in 2022.
