Tech falls at No. 5 TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas Tech Red Raiders dropped their match to the No. 5-ranked TCU Horned Frogs, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
TCU (12-4, 1-0 Big 12) began the match by winning the doubles point against Texas Tech (9-7, 0-2 Big 12). At court three, Oliver Bonding and Maximus Dussault defeated Felipe Pagnacco and Thomas Van Den Dooren, 6-2, for the early advantage. The No. 8-ranked TCU duo of Cosme Rolland De Ravel and Duncan Chan would clinch the doubles point over Niksa Arsic and Thiago Guglieri at court one with a 6-3 score, giving the Horned Frogs a 1-0 lead in the match.
TCU got its first point in singles play at court three, when Alberto Pedrico beat Pagnacco by a 6-3, 6-4 score. The Horned Frogs increased their lead after Maximus Dussault defeated Van Den Dooren at court six, 6-1, 2-6, 6-1. Clinching the match for TCU was No. 41 Cooper Woestendick over Ludovico Vaccari by a 6-3, 6-3 score, to make it 4-0 in the contest.
Up next, the Red Raiders host the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
