The Red Raiders had a strong third set that saw 11 ties and lead changes before the Bears took it 28-26. Baylor took a 15-12 lead at the media timeout, but Tech would not go away as they tied it 17-17 before taking the lead the next point. Baylor took a timeout down 22-20 and Tech forced set point, but the Bears would not give up as they bounced back and took the final set to win the match.
